Family of Bears

We bears stick together. We feast, we have fun, we travel…

The Met, Leeds

November1

The bears are back from hibernation and we’ll be sharing with you tons of stuff that we’ve experienced during our time away!

But before that, here’s a message from Principal Hayley.

Sakae Teppanyaki: Soup-to spill-to

May18

The bear and I are fine. We are blending well with the humans. The reason for the long disappearance is Teddybear’s fault. He got hungry one fine day and decided to eat the notebook together with the router.

Sigh. Bears. Can’t live with them, can’t live without them.

Note: Clearly I’m joking. It’s just one of those lame excuses like “my dog ate my homework.”

Nick is back. You know the guy that was leaving for Canada in the previous entry? Well, he came back a couple of weeks ago, and this time there’s no mention of when he’s leaving. I guess he’ll be around for a while. He kinda hooked up with Nikki. They’re in looove, or so I heard.

Anyway, the humans that the bear regards as friends, called for dinner. I was invited so I dragged along lil Phoebe (my pink Canon PowerShot E1). There was a reason for doing so – photos for this entry that I’m writing right now!

ASTONS Specialties: I expected more…

January23

Now I’m confused… Teddybear is a bear isn’t he? If so, why does he fancy steak? Aren’t fishes the top of his menu? Oh well. I guess humanity has gotten the best of him after all; otherwise it’s probably his human friends.

It was Nick’s last evening in Singapore before he returned to Canada the next afternoon (then back here again in April, if I’ve not mistaken). Since we’d all probably be at work when he leaves, the TSFs decided to call a gathering at Nick’s place that very evening.

The plan was that Jason would “da-bao” (aka take-away) food and bring it to Nick’s place for us. Unfortunately, 5 minutes before arriving at Nick’s, plans changed. Instead of having “da-bao-ed” food, we were changing our course and making our way to Joo Chiat to meet up with the rest for dinner at ASTONS Specialties.

Gelatissimo: The forgotten (gelato) flavour

January10

After having “the most satisfying” but “not the most delicious” meal, I had to my taste bud to something sweet.

As we made our way back to the bear-mobile, parked at Shaw House, we “unintentionally” passed by Gelatissimo. And yes, I was allowed to pick one flavour from the wide selection – Teddybear’s treat!

Far East Plaza Chicken Rice: “not the most delicious but the most satisfying”

January7

It’s no secret that the Teddybear is a huge fan of chicken rice. (Well, at least it’s no secret to me.) But that is also why it’s probably impossible to say exactly which stall is his favourite-favourite.

Sometime back in December, after he came back from his little trip to France, Teddybear had his chicken rice cravings, while we were walking around in town. To be frank, I’m not a big fan of chicken rice. It was never one of my considerations when deciding what to eat. But since the bear made a request and I couldn’t decide what to have for lunch, I obliged.

Mentioning earlier, it’s pretty hard to really say which chicken rice stall is the Teddybear’s favourite. But one of his favourites (on that long list of favourites) happened to be located at the top floor of Far East Plaza, which was pretty close by – therefore, that was where we headed to.

Dinner is “on the bear”, “in a tupperware”?

January6

This is so much easier to write about compared to the “picnic at Sentosa”. Trust me, I’m writing it. Hurhur.

It’s the New Year, everyone’s talking about it. And as dreadful as it may be, after a long break from work (I had close to a week PAID off) even bears had to get back into our human suits and return to the work place.

Anyhow, to celebrate the “new beginning”, some companies have this practice of having mini-gatherings – Teddybear’s company was no exception (mine was though).

The thing about “mini-gatherings” is that it usually involves FOOD. And we bears love food, don’t we? Read the rest of this entry »

A new year. A new beginning. The same old Family of Bears!

January1

The first entry was dated back in February 2008, close to a year ago. Initially when I started this blog, I was pretty determined to update regularly. Unfortunately, as time went by, the blog was soon left aside, untouched.

Since it’s the start of 2009, a brand new year, and the family of bears still existed. I’ve decided to revive this dying “home” and revive the promise of recording what we bears experience (hopefully on a daily basis, if not, as regularly as possible).

Without further ado, I hereby re-welcome you to our home and the start a of soon to be, amazing new year!

Hello world!

February19

This is the first entry in this blog so it’s going to be brief. The sole purpose of the blog is to record down “adventures”, we the bears, are going to go through on a journey to becoming a “family”.

As the days pass our bond tightens and slowly we become one. Read the rest of this entry »
