Far East Plaza Chicken Rice: “not the most delicious but the most satisfying”

Category : Food Files

It’s no secret that the Teddybear is a huge fan of chicken rice. (Well, at least it’s no secret to me.) But that is also why it’s probably impossible to say exactly which stall is his favourite-favourite.

Sometime back in December, after he came back from his little trip to France, Teddybear had his chicken rice cravings, while we were walking around in town. To be frank, I’m not a big fan of chicken rice. It was never one of my considerations when deciding what to eat. But since the bear made a request and I couldn’t decide what to have for lunch, I obliged.

Mentioning earlier, it’s pretty hard to really say which chicken rice stall is the Teddybear’s favourite. But one of his favourites (on that long list of favourites) happened to be located at the top floor of Far East Plaza, which was pretty close by – therefore, that was where we headed to.

Far East Plaza Chicken Rice
Dish rating:

Looking at the dish placed before me, I really don’t see why it even made it to the list – poor visual presentation and the taste was just “alright”.

According to Teddybear, the reason why he liked it so much was due to a past experience. To put it bluntly, it’s “the most satisfying meal of my life there”, “not the most delicious but the most satisfying”.

Questioning him further, the conclusion made was that he had a “good memory from that meal” even though he couldn’t remember the reason for it anymore.

In my opinion, if this plate of rice was presented to me to convert me into a chicken rice fan…

I’d have to tell them, “You’d seriously have to do much better”.

Teddybear has finally remembered the incident! Apparently, that particular day (quite sometime ago) he was really hungry (close to starving) and that particular meal (the chicken rice at Far East Plaza) had all a meal should have – rice, soup, liver, chicken and vegetables. Not a really strong reason but still his reason.
